In the third step we will create a series of documents that are essentially the blueprint for a factory to price out and manufacture your garment to your quality standards. These documents are called specification sheets or technical design packets. Once this step is complete you are ready to manufacture with CDS or any factory in the world!
WHY is this step needed?
Tech packs can serve as an agreement between you and the manufacturer as to how your product should look, be constructed and sized. Without this step you are flying blind with the quality you will receive from your production run. Accurate and detailed tech packs ensure you and the factory are on the same page.
Technical Line Drawing- This is the technical sketch that shows every seam and garment detail of the design. The sketch is used by the pattern maker and sample sewer as a guide for when it is time to draft the pattern for design.
Technical Design Packets- Also known as spec sheets or specification sheets in the industry. These are quality control documents that are used to instruct the making of your garment. Tech packs must be made by an expert to ensure accuracy.
